– Sarah & Dan –

Sarah and Dan were married on Sept. 20th at the Sankaty Beach Club and had their reception at the Sankaty Head Golf Club. This couple is super sweet and they are both Veterinarians. They had a crystal clear day with blue skies and sunshine for their Nantucket Wedding. After Sarah and Dan shared their first look at Sarah’s child hood home on Lovers Lane we took a cruise into town so we could take photos at the First Congregational Church where Sarah went growing up. It was wonderful to take a few photos at the church before we carried on to Sconset to meet the bridal party at the beach. The beach was glorious and everyone shared a lot of laughs as we took photos there and around Sconset.

Family friends played a special part in this wedding. Their good friend Tom McGrath provided a gorgeous antique car and drove Sarah and her Dad to the Ceremony. Their officiant was another long time family friend, Tom Richard.  The ceremony was personal and touching and the gorgeous waterfront made for the perfect setting.

I have known Sarah and her family for most of my life as we both grew up riding horses on Nantucket. We always knew Sarah had a special love and compassion for the animals around us and so it was no surprise that she eventually decided to attend Veterinarian School……It was there that she found the love of her life…….”Dan and I met in Vet school.  We were assigned to the same lab group in a few classes.  We became study partners and really good friends and have been together since then.”

She and her family are long time Nantucketers so I was thrilled when they announced that she’d be getting married here on the island. I asked her more about how they made that decision….”I grew up on Nantucket and always knew I wanted to get married here.  It is absolutely beautiful and I couldn’t think a prettier setting and its home; even though we live in Connecticut now I will probably always think of Nantucket as home.  We chose Sankaty as our venue because we had been to a wedding there and the setting was absolutely gorgeous and the food the was delicious. Both Dan and I couldn’t imagine a more perfect place for our ceremony and reception.”

Sarah and Dan are absolute sweethearts and their family and friends all enjoyed the beautiful fall day together. After sunset when everyone was settled into dinner I noticed the fog had slowly rolled in over the golf course almost creating a magical look that there was bodies of water over the course. I knew we had to make a photo before this gorgeous balance of light and natural beauty changed into night sky. Sarah and Dan looked stunning!!

Later in the evening Billy Voss turned up the tunes they all danced the night away. Sarah’s favorite color is purple and there was purple infused throughout all of the decor and lighting. The Sankaty Golf Club looked totally transformed and beautiful with the decorative lighting by Billy Voss of Perfect Nantucket Events.  Sarah’s awesome older brother Matt also surprised them with some custom made Disney wedding hats which provided lots of laughs on the dance floor too! The entire day was filled with happiness and laughter. It was such a pleasure meeting everyone at this wedding and I couldn’t be happier for this lovely couple!!
