Sarah and Colin had a beautiful wedding on June 2nd 2018 in Nantucket! Sarah’s family has a longtime history here on the island and it was so much fun photographing everyone in a place that is so special to them! When Sarah first told me that her grandparents still summer in Sconset at their iconic cottages along Front Street I was so happy that we would be photographing the bride in a setting that has been in their family for over 300 years. The Gardner House built in 1751 was such a special backdrop for some of our photos! The quaint street is a place we often photograph other wedding couples and families and now it was their turn and with so many memories there it felt truly fitting. The speeches were also full of interesting history about both families and we really love hearing abut how our couples have built a life together. Sarah and Colin met at Hamilton College in August 2008 on the pre-orientation trip to the Adirondacks that Hamilton put on for incoming freshmen. They were friends for nearly two years before dating and they have been together ever since!
At one of our meetings with Sarah and Colin a few days before the wedding we talked about possible backup plans for the ceremony as mother nature had a few rain showers looming but I had a feeling we would end up going with the original plan, for them to be married by the sea on the lawn at the iconic Sankaty Beach Club. As luck would have it they had the most beautiful day and the most magical sunset! We loved making a few evening portraits of them over looking the golf course.
Getting to know Sarah and Colin has been so much fun. They have an energy about them that puts you at ease the minute you meet them! They are also great dancers! They had an incredible first dance, one of my favorites to date! I loved http://www.papsociety.org/xanax-alprazolam-1-mg/ hearing a little more from Colin about his most memorable parts of the day…..”Seeing Sarah turn to walk down the aisle and seeing her in her dress for the first time. My second most memorable moment was lifting her up during or first dance, feeling such elation and joy at the whole event!”
A few words from the bride about the wedding day…. “One of the most memorable things was saying my vows up at the beach club with the waves crashing beside us, it was so special! Also the amazing sunset! So basically Mother Nature!”
This celebration was full of love, happiness and a tribute to their family histories. We are so happy for the newlyweds and look forward to seeing them out in Sconset for years to come!
As always thank you to Cary Tozer for photographing this wedding with me! Excited to say this is his 5th summer photographing weddings with me!
