Kate and Nico had a romantic Summer Nantucket Wedding on July 19th 2014. Nico is French and this sweet couple lives abroad. They had an amazing international wedding party and throughout the day you could hear different languages being spoken as everyone laughed and celebrated Kate and Nico’s amazing love for each other.

Kate and Nico met at a dinner party that Nico’s step-mom hosted in Paris 5 years ago. Kate’s best friend while abroad was doing a home-stay with this French family, who kindly invited her to join them for dinner that evening. Nico fell for Katherine instantly when she played a beautiful Chopin piece on the piano!

This wedding was such a lovely testament to the people who love Kate and Nico. From the moment I walked  into the house where she was getting ready I saw that everyone, in their own way, was contributing to the beautiful wedding. Her mom and friend were finishing tying the programs as her friend finished making the flower crowns for the little girls. I love the personal touches that come into play with each wedding and seeing how everyone comes together to make the day truly fabulous.

This sweet couple loved showing their friend and family the island of Nantucket. We visited The Brant Point Lighthouse for photos and the wedding party had a great time. They truly love Nantucket as Kate’s parents moved to Cape Cod in recent years and her family also has a house on Nantucket, where she has many special memories. Kate and Nico’s most romantic vacation was on Nantucket when they celebrated their 1-year anniversary and Kate’s college graduation in 2010.

The entire day was filled with romance and lots of amazing moments. During our portraits they would often start speaking french to each other and start dancing. At the reception on the lawn of The Great Harbor Yacht Club the couple gathered around the musicians and sang “La Vie en Rose” with their family members. Kate is from a very musical family and the entire party listened and enjoyed the signature song of Edith Piaf.

Kate and Nico absolutely glow when they are together and it was an honor to photograph their love story.

Nico’s most memorable part of the day was when Kate entered into the church with her stunning gown, as well as when they drove off in the car and were waving to family and friends. Kate’s special moment was the beautiful church ceremony and music. Nico and Kate both have the fondest memories of being picked up and carried by all of their friends on the dance floor that evening.
