Holly and Steve were married on Oct. 5th in Sconset. Their ceremony was at the Sconset Union Chapel and their reception was at the Sankaty Head Golf Club. They had a lovely day for their wedding and later in the evening Nantucket delivered a gorgeous Sunset over the golf course. Photographing this wedding was so amazing as Holly and Steve recently welcomed their adorable daughter Hendrix Jayne into the world. It was very special to photograph Holly as she got ready and see how much joy Hendrix brings to her and their family every moment of the day! Hendrix was also carried down the isle, watched the ceremony and joined the party for a while at the reception. Holly and Steve are blessed with loving families and so many of incredible friends. They spent a few years between Aspen and Nantucket so there was a great blend of Nantucketers, people from Aspen and also many people who split the year  between both towns. Holly and Steve love adventure, music and the outdoors. They also love their Newfoundland dog Ginger who made an appearance with Holly’s Sister’s dog Scarlet after the ceremony!

I’ve known Holly and Steve for a while and I can remember a year I lived in Aspen when Holly came out to spend some time there. Steve was my neighbor up in Snowmass and I would see her all the time in our little neighborhood. I loved seeing them together. I can also remember several ‘going away nights out’ for Holly but she always changed her ticket and extended her stay. She actually never left that season and they began an adventure together. These two are completely in love and they are always smiling when they are together. Here’s more about their story….

“Steve and I met here on Nantucket many summers ago through mutual friends.  We became very close friends sharing a passion for live music and adventurous fun times before our friendship transformed into a romance and then love.  We moved away to Aspen for a few amazing years, but found ourselves back on Nantucket where we became engaged and welcomed our daughter, Hendrix Jayne, into the world.”

Holly’s family has always had a home on Nantucket and Nantucket really became home when the Martin’s opened their store, Best of the Beach, over a decade ago.  Holly and Steve have spent many years residing on the island, so it just made sense to be married here.

“I always envisioned myself getting married on island because it has always been such a special place for myself and my family.  Luckily, https://accisotret.com Steve shares this same love!  It was easy to chose our venues.  I feel incredibly blessed to have been married at the ‘sconset chapel.  It could not be more beautiful!  When my father suggested Sankaty for our reception, we knew it would be perfect.  Sankaty Golf Club is gorgeous and the food is always perfection.  Steve is an avid golfer and Sankaty is his favorite course, so it really was special for us. “

Family and friends gathered at the Sconset Union Chapel for the ceremony. Their officiant was Kevin Thomas Plodzik. He is a family friend who has known Holly’s family since she was young. He also confirmed Holly and all of her siblings and has been very involved in their lives.  After the Ceremony we walked out of the chapel to see the bright orange Bronco Steve had gotten for them as a surprise. We had so much fun photographing the bridal party and the newlyweds with the Bronco and around Sconset. The evening at Sankaty was beautiful as we had a gorgeous sunset, heartfelt toasts and great live music by Hither Creek and a special guest Cameron Williams, a friend from Aspen, who flew out to join them from New York.
