This was one of my favorite family portrait sessions to date! It was so wonderful spending the afternoon with my good friends, The Osley Family! Ever since I was a little kid Pete’s family was like family to us! We all grew up best friends and now, years later, it’s such a treat to have become friends with his amazing wife Emily and to see them raising a family of their own on Nantucket! Little Simon is adorable and their Dog Escher joined us too! Spring is a fun time on Nantucket, with flowers blooming and longer warmer days it’s a sign that summer is right around the corner! So many laughs and so much love with these guys. I loved talking to Emily about their life and raising a family here on the island….

“When I first set foot on Nantucket, ten years ago, it was as if I landed in a dreamworld. Within days I met my husband and knew that this is where I wanted to settle.  As with any place there are challenges, however, it’s the people, this community, our “framily” as some friends call it, that keeps us rooted here.  While our journey into parenthood is just the beginning, we are truly grateful to have the opportunity to raise Simon on this faraway island. The evening we spent with Katie was absolutely magical.  Her energy, genuine smile, and enthusiasm kept us laughing while we enjoyed playing in a gorgeous field of lupines.  Every time I look at the photos she’s taken of our family I feel as though she’s captured the joy in our hearts!”

I love Simon’s blond curls, Pete’s big smile, Emily’s glowing energy and of course Eschers love for his family. They are amazing people and I’m so thankful they are in my life!  Here’s to family & friends, as Emily put it ‘The Framily.’ Looking forward to more good times all together as we head into summer on Nantucket!!
