Sara and Brian live in St. Louis and love spending time on Nantucket in the summers. We kicked off their engagement session at Sara’s family’s home in Tom Nevers with gorgeous views, beautiful blooms and the beach. I love the coast line out at that end of the island, the beach is so pristine and we had it all to ourselves.

As always I love hearing from my couples about why they love this special little island. Sara told me more about the first time Brian came to Nantucket with her…”I invited Brian to my parents home on Nantucket three years ago.  Brian wanted to have a daily itenerary of activities of places and things to do while on island.  I tried telling him we would take it a day at a time as it is so relaxing just to sit on the beach and watch the waves roll in.  Not even a few hours after arriving at my parents home, while having cocktails on the deck Brian turned to me and said “I get it!”  The following year we got engaged on the beach in front of my parents home.” It’s always a goal of mine to photograph our couples in places that are meaningful to them and starting off in Tom Never’s was the perfect https://propfinast.com setting, I asked them if there was an extra special part of the session and their reply was so sweet…”Having our engagement photos taken down on Tom Never’s Beach where Brian asked me to be his wife!”

Like many of our fall 2020 wedding couples Sara and Brian recently decided to postpone to 2021 given the uncertainties surrounding the current Covid situation. I have to say I am in awe of their positive attitude and ability to see the silver linings as they navigated their decision and more even wedding planning. With their great perspectives and joyful love for each other I know that their wedding will be one to remember! These two have such a bright future ahead of them!

After the sun went down during our session at Sankaty Lighthouse the skies lit up and the clouds actually matched Sara’s pink dress! It was gorgeous! I loved getting to know Sara and Brian more during our session and I’m truly looking forward to their festivities next summer on Nantucket. Here is a little highlight post from their session!
