– Ben & Nicole –

This spring I was pleased to photograph the marriage of Nicole Steinmuller and Ben Shappell who recently decided to make Nantucket their home year round. They are an amazing, dynamic and fun couple so it was no surprise that photographing their wedding was incredibly fun. Their ceremony was at the Unitarian Church and the reception was held at the Great Harbor Yacht Club. Springtime weddings are so lovely, Nantucket is still rather quiet and on this very special day we had blue skies and sunshine.

Nicole and Ben met through friends in Boston while Nicole was completing her residency. After a few years of dating, Ben finally popped the question one night in Boston. I asked Nicole how their journey led them to having a Nantucket wedding at the Great Harbor Yacht Club…

“I had always wanted to get married on Martha’s Vineyard, but when we moved to Nantucket the notion of Martha’s Vineyard quickly disappeared. It became very clear very quickly that Nantucket was a place like no other and that our wedding had to occur on Nantucket. The Great Harbor Yacht Club was the perfect venue by the water to share the beauty of Nantucket with our friends and family while celebrating our special day.”

This wedding was a fantastic way to kick off the season as I was working alongside many of my favorite Nantucket Vendors. The Great Harbor Yacht Club looked absolutely gorgeous and as the sun started to go down the dancing started and never stopped. I truly enjoyed meeting all of Nicole & Ben’s family and friends. Wishing them all the best!
