Abby & Charlie had a lovely fall wedding at Pumpkin Pond Farm. They were set on having an outdoor wedding and despite a few sprinkles throughout the day they had a perfect outdoor ceremony. Guests cuddled up under giant umbrellas as Abby walked down a long path accompanied by her mother and father and her two sisters who held her antique veil, the same veil that Abby’s mother wore at her wedding. As the evening went on and everyone had dinner in the green house the sound of the rain was romantic and added to the already cozy atmosphere of the night.

A few words from the groom…”We met while living just blocks away from each other in Charlestown, MA. Our first date was at the Ironsides Bar and Grill, a restaurant located directly between our two apartments at the time. We hit it off and more dates followed, in Charlestown, Boston and then up to New Hampshire for our first weekend away together. Barely two months into the relationship we went on a last minute ski trip to Utah. The skiing was great but the best thing to come out of the trip was the realization by both of us that this was the beginning of something special.”

Special it is! When I met Abby & Charlie I could tell they were totally head over heels for each other! They have amazing energy and share a love of the outdoors and adventure. These two shine when they are together. Nantucket proved to be a perfect wedding choice for them…”Nantucket just seemed like the inevitable place to get married. Abby’s family had been coming to Nantucket for over thirty years, and the island has always been a very special place for both of us. We actually got engaged on the island as well. I proposed to Abby the night before Thanksgiving in 2011, in the pouring rain, right at the steamship dock. Abby’s mom came across Pumpkin Pond Farm while out on a walk the summer before last and she thought it would be a great place for a wedding. Two days after we got engaged we took a tour of the farm and right away we knew we didn’t need to look anywhere else. We had our wedding date and venue planned by the end of our first weekend as an engaged couple.”

Abby & Charlie have an incredible group of family and friends. Their wedding was full of personal touches including great handmade signs that Abby’s mom made and put throughout the venue. The fall farm decor of this wedding was simply exquisite. Kendra Lockley of Simply With Style Catering and her team did a fantastic job creating long rustic farm tables with incredible details and flowers.
