Melissa and Andrew were married on October 7th 2017 on Nantucket. Their wedding was at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with a wonderful reception at Sankaty Head Golf Club. They had a gorgeous fall day for their festivities. After the ceremony we strolled around town and the docks for portraits. We loved seeing the incredible vintage car that Melissa’s neighbor lent them for their special day! They looked great cruising in the  1970 Mercedes Benz Roadster with the top down. Melissa’s family is from Nantucket and she grew up here on the island so we loved seeing so many local friends at this celebration!

“Nantucket is our happy place. It’s my home and Andrew’s adopted home. We have so many amazing memories on island with our friends and family. From the rehearsal to the after-party everything felt authentic.”

Melissa and Andrew had a wedding day that ranged from bright blue skies to pretty clouds and one of the most epic sunsets we have ever seen. We always keep a close eye on the sky and stalk the light during the evening so we can make the best portraits possible for our couples.  This evening was no exception. We saw the sun start to set and reflect on the clouds.  It created a bright pink and purple sky and we made some lovely images of Melissa and Andrew!

“Every part of the day was a different amazing moment. Having all our friends and family in one place was irreplaceable. All the people that surrounded us were as excited and happy as we were (including our photographers). We couldn’t have asked for a more awesome day.”

Melissa is definitely right about the photographers being happy! It was a great wedding and we loved working with such a fun, joyful and laid back couple! The sunset was a highlight of the evening and we loved photographing them out on the Sankaty Green just before heading into the club  for dinner.

The band played all night and their incredible group of friends showed us some great new dance moves. We were right in the middle of it all, and loved photographing the epic action on the dance floor!
