Kerri and John were married at The Whales Watch Property on September 20th 2014. They had a gorgeous late summer day with blue skies and beautiful light. I absolutely loved hearing about how this couple met…turns out you can meet your soul mate on Figawi Weekend! Here’s more of their story…..”John and I met in Nantucket by a mutual friend setting us up during Figawi Weekend of all times. What was funny was we ended up living a block apart for three years in south Boston and never ran into each other. Nantucket became our special place. We got engaged there and said we need to get married there. It wasn’t until Jonas had told us about The Whales watch and how he had done a wedding there the previous weekend. We immediately called to inquire about dates etc and ended up booking it that day site unseen!”
The couple made a perfect choice having their wedding out at The Whales Watch. The landscape their is amazing and they told me later that amongst their favorite parts of the day was our stroll around the beach….”We were just talking about our favorite moments of our day. I loved the fact that we didn’t see each other until the ceremony. It meant a lot to both of us. I think our favorite part of the day was going down to the beach and taking photos with you. It gave us time to take it all in and recap our day. We both are not crazy about photos of ourselves but you really made us feel so comfortable! Of course the dancing was a close second with the sparkler exit. It was so crazy how all our little arts an crafts came together to make the reception look like a real party venue! It was just an amazing day filled with so much love. Just an incredible day! The whole wonderful event created such an amazing bond between our families who really didn’t even know one another. Nantucket has become a special place for everyone at our wedding.”
After their ceremony we had a beautiful evening for photos down at the beach. Late summer sunshine and love was all around us. As we returned to the reception we loved hearing all of the heartfelt speeches and learning more about the newlyweds. After a great meal and more toasts everyone hit the dance floor for the rest of the night. At the end of the evening everyone gathered around Kerri and John with sparklers, it was the perfect close to their incredible wedding. We couldn’t be happier for Kerri and John and looking forward to seeing them again on Nantucket, maybe even next Figawi Weekend!!
