Alex and Dan are getting married in the Fall of 2020 and we can’t wait for their celebration! Getting to know them during their Nantucket Engagement Session was such fun and we had an amazing summer sunset to top off the great evening! As always I love hearing about my couple’s connections to the island, a place we all love so much! Here is a little more from Alex about their connection to the island….  “I grew up going to Nantucket with my family and it has always been our favorite place because of the beauty, the tranquillity, and the amazing people. Dan fell equally in love with the island and we have had the best time exploring it together. We both love the escape the island provides and our days filled with runs to Sankaty, trips to the beach, and time with our family. We cannot wait to celebrate on Nantucket with everyone next fall!”

We are thrilled to be working with our friends at Nantucket Island Events for Alex and Dan’s wedding and from the first call with Alex I knew we’d be a great fit! For many couples their Engagement Session is their first experience being photographed so I love to keep it casual, relaxed and fun….we are fans of authentic laughter and of course a toast of champagne if the couple is inclined! It often feels more like I’m documenting friends while out on a beach walk together and this night felt like just that.  We also started at Lily Pond Park, a stunning location near town that is incredibly lush and green this time of year. The whole evening I kept an eye on the skies and had a feeling they just might light up and they did, the purples and pinks flooded the sky and reflected off the water making for a perfect end to the evening.

“Dan and I did not know what we were walking into, and we were both surprised by how comfortable Katie made us feel and how much fun we had during the session. The highlight was definitely the incredible sunset. Katie told us early in the evening she had a feeling it was going to be a perfect night and she was spot on!
