Vivian and Seth were married September 7th 2019 at The Nantucket Yacht Club. Their weekend kicked off with a rehearsal dinner and welcome party at The Whaling Museum on Friday evening and then guests gathered under sunny skies for their wedding on Saturday at the Nantucket Yacht Club. The week leading up to the wedding was showing a very mixed forecast with Hurricane Dorian making it’s way up the east coast but after the first look on Saturday the skies cleared and gave way to the most gorgeous day for these two! They love so much about Nantucket and we always enjoy hearing more from our couples about why the island is special to them…

“Not only was Nantucket one of the first vacation spots Seth and I went to together while dating, but Seth and I loved the idea of having a special destination for us to potentially bring our (future) family to. It was love at first sight for me and now that we’ve gotten married there, it’s even more meaningful.”

As we mentioned Hurricane Dorian was headed north as the weekend approached and I have to say Vivian and Seth were completely unphased. They were prepared to go with rain plan A, B, or C and we are always grateful to work with couples who are ready for whatever their day brings! Though we were fully prepared for the storm plan we were delighted when the weather cleared and when I asked the couple about one of their most memorable moments of the day I had a feeling it might have to do with this unexpected lovely sunshine! When they made the decision to move the ceremony back outside it was a joy to capture the team effort of everyone (even the father of the bride) pitching in and moving the chairs and flowers (and the flower petals). Here’s more from our couple…

“I think it was definitely when we made the call to move the ceremony outdoors (back to Plan A!). There was a moment where Seth and I exchanged looks at each other during family/wedding party photos and made the mutual decision to move the ceremony outdoors. It was especially memorable and momentous after all week of going back and forth wondering where the ceremony would be and being on Hurricane Dorian watch. Watching all the groomsmen, family members, and all the staff pitch in to move the setup outdoors was amazing and was incredibly meaningful for us (I think you may have snagged some photos of this!) I wish there was some way to capture all the ways we had to roll with it throughout the week given our wedding crasher, but I think this moment really did it for me!” They also sent me this wonderful set of lyrics from their first dance which became so fitting given the story of their weekend. “…and we can build this thing together, stand this stormy weather, nothing’s gonna stop us now…”

We can say without a doubt that nothing was going to stop this celebration, not even a  hurricane! The couple danced the night away with their family and friends and we loved capturing all the super fun dance moves! We are wishing Vivian and Seth the most amazing future together and hope to see them again soon on Nantucket! Congrats once again to the newlyweds!!
