Maya and Seth met about five years ago during a Nantucket winter. The couple met a few days before valentine’s day and shortly after they began dating and the rest is history.

Years before that I met Maya when we were both working at the same restaurant and I can remember the first few times I saw her around Nantucket with Seth. They looked so happy and in love.

After getting engaged they decided to have the wedding at the Lake Mansfield Trout Club in Stowe Vermont. They both knew they wanted a small wedding where everyone could spend a weekend relaxing and enjoying the gorgeous setting by the lake. When they asked me to accompany them for the weakend I was overjoyed and couldn’t wait for the road trip up to Vermont. After exiting off the main road I could tell this wedding was going to be truly unique.  After several miles of driving on a dirt road cell service disappeared and I entered a small piece of paradise. The Lake Mansfield Trout Club is so much more than a fishing club. Seth’s family has longtime connections to this magical place. Seth’s Grandfather had been a member for a long time and after his grandmother passed away this club began to serve as a meeting place for Seth’s entire family who was living all over New England.

There is a bench at the club down by the river where Seth’s grandfather had donated a bench and named a trail after his grandmother. On Seth and Maya’s sunny wedding day we gathered the family there for a few photos. It was very special for the Maya and Seth to share their wedding day with a place that holds so much meaning for the history of Seth’s family.

Seth and Maya’s wedding was so unique and relaxing. The Lake Mansfield Trout Club is a piece of New England heaven. It is far far away from cell service, internet and any other distractions of the present day. Maya  and Seth were able to truly enjoy their wedding weekend with an amazing group of friends and family. Throughout the weekend guests were encouraged to swim in the lake, fish off of a boat and of course watch the sun go down from a front row rocking chair on the porch. I am forever thankful for being a part of this wedding and am looking forward to many fun years of friendship with Maya and Seth here on Nantucket.
