Sarah and Jordan were married at Sankaty Golf Club in August. Their wedding was full of amazing energy and surprises….but first a little bit about the amazing couple…
From Sarah…..”Jordan and I met five summers ago when I came to New York City to look for an apartment. We were introduced by mutual friends but for the summer I was working as a counselor at a summer camp and Jordan was working in LA at a talent agency. We maintained a friendship and got to know each other as I would call him from a pay phone in a barn from the camp I was working at. That fall I moved to New York City where he was living again and we began dating.”
After getting to know Sarah and Jordan throughout the year before their wedding I realized their connection to Nantucket was clearly something special. I love asking my couples how they decided to get married on Nantucket….
“Nantucket has always held a special place in my heart. My family has been summer residents for four generations and I have been going since I was an infant. I have a distinct memory of myself when I was seven years old being the flower girl in a family friends wedding, held at the Sconset Chapel and Sankaty. It was no surprise early on that I knew I would eventually get married on Nantucket. There is something indescribably magical about the island, making it the perfect place to get married. A year after dating Jordan I brought him to Nantucket for the first time. He instantly fell in love with the island and agreed that when we got married it would have to be there. We have countless memories of wonderful beach days, nights out and about in town and a million delicious meals on the island. Nantucket truly feels like home to both of us.” – Sarah
When they aren’t on Nantucket for a visit Sarah and Jordan live in New York City. When I met Sarah I knew she had amazing and infectious positive energy. She surprised everyone at the wedding reception when she changed out of the wedding dress and into something she could perform in. To put it simply, Sarah is a real life rockstar! She plays an electric hot pink violin and travels throughout the country performing at various venues and events. She’s an accomplished musician and teacher and she has performed at many reputable venues and even made an appearance on The Today Show. She put on the show of a lifetime at her very own wedding! Jordan and her brother joined her on stage to sing back up with the band and play guitar. As they performed together their family and friends danced the night away to a very unique end to an amazing wedding performance!
A huge congratulations to one of the most dynamic and fun couples I have ever met! Wishing all the best to Sarah and Jordan!
