Lori and Chris were married at the St. Mary’s Church and had a lovely reception at The Westmoor Club. They had a perfect fall day full of sunshine, blue skies and a gorgeous sunset. Since they live around the corner at the The Westmoor Farm they even had very special guest join them on the dance floor – their sweet dog Bodhi! I’ve known Lori and Chris for a few years on Nantucket and they are great friends of mine. It was such a blast photographing their special day and seeing them surrounded by so many loved ones who came together for the celebration!

The story of Lori and Chris…”Chris and I met about two years ago at a Nantucket School Committee meeting, the last place I would ever expect to meet anyone. Chris was there to support a Strong Wings Program and my sister, Richelle, and I were there to support the High School Gymnastics Team because both program’s budgets were on the chopping block. When I heard Chris speak, I was impressed. He didn’t even have any notes and he gave such an articulate, persuasive and heartfelt presentation…he caught my attention and it made me want to get to know him.”

I’m always excited to hear about why Nantucket is special to the couples I photograph….”Nantucket is our home, it’s where we met, and Chris and I feel lucky to live here. We love the beaches, the unique and natural beauty of the Island, and the lifestyle of living in the middle of the sea. We both have family and friends here and thought Nantucket would be a beautiful place to get married. We chose The Westmoor Club because it has meaning to us. We got to know each other on Hinckley Lane where Chris used to live and we love that part of the Island. The Westmoor Club was so generous and accommodating, and our wedding happily fell into place there. We were really excited and thankful to celebrate with our family and friends in such a special place.”

The entire day was relaxed and lovely. Lori and Chris were married at 2:00 pm at the St. Mary’s Church thus they had all day to enjoy their wedding with everyone! After the ceremony we went for a cruise down to Brant Point Lighthouse and the docks at Children’s Beach to take photos. It was unseasonably warm which made for a great afternoon under blue skies. After a gorgeous sunset Billy Voss kept the party going night and everyone danced the night away! I am so very happy for Lori and Chris as they will absolutely share a lifetime of happiness and love together!
