Kim and Damian were married over Labor Day Weekend, Sunday September 3rd, at The White Elephant on Nantucket. They had an intimate wedding with close friends and family and a truly beautiful evening to celebrate their special day. The morning of their special day brought rain, which I do believe is good luck on the wedding day! Later the skies cleared just enough and the island’s romantic fog served as a beautiful backdrop for their seaside nuptials.
“Damian and I first visited the Nantucket after we graduated from dental school. We fell in love with everything about the island, so when we got engaged we really wanted to get married there because it’s so beautiful and romantic. We love the idea of starting our own family tradition and coming back every year. ”
With a small wedding we are always excited when our couples build in some quality time for portraits into their day! Kim and Damian were so much fun to photograph. We loved getting to know them, their family and their friends. Kim told me recently that they are having a bigger party to celebrate and that they are going to print some of the photos from their special day to share the story! It makes us happy to know how much our couples enjoy their time in front of the camera on their wedding day!
“My favorite part was taking pictures with just Damian, we had time to just be alone and enjoy the moment together. ”
With gorgeous florals by Soiree Floral and lighting design by Perfect Nantucket Events it was a truly gorgeous evening! Kim had a vision for these gorgeous light fixtures to hang above their long tables and it was absolutely magical looking. After a few heartfelt speeches everyone enjoyed dinner. Kim and Damian had a cake topped with sparklers and after a few photos of the cake cutting we said good night for the evening! We are wishing this wonderful couple a lifetime of happiness together!
Thank you to Cary Tozer for joining me to photograph this wedding!

Kim shared with me early on that on her wedding day she would be honoring her Father who had passed away. “I wrote a card to my Father to honor him in my own personal way. I also have an old T-shirt of his that I have kept, and I had my seamstress sew a small piece of it into the pocket of my wedding dress.” This heartfelt detail was a beautiful tribute to Kim’s father who was with them in spirit throughout this important day.
