Jenna and Brandon’s Nantucket Wedding – First Congregational Church and Galley Beach

October 5, 2019

Jenna and Brandon were married September 14th 2019 at The First Congregational Church with a reception that followed at Galley Beach. They had friends and family here from all over the country and their festivities started days ahead of time with a tour at Cisco Brewery, Rehearsal Dinner and Welcome Party at The Whaling Museum and more! Last year Brandon had reached out about photographing his surprise proposal at Galley Beach where he surprised Jenna and also flew in his parents to join her family for the festive evening, all a surprise to Jenna! It was raining that evening and under a white umbrella, on the beach Brandon popped the question. Later the skies cleared with a stunning sunset and it has been an honor to document so many of the important moments for these two as time goes on! We got to work with our friends at Nantucket Island Events for this wedding and it was such a fabulous weekend. Jenna and Brandon have such enthusiasm for each other and also for Nantucket, a place that has become a second home to them. Here is more of their story…

Jenna shared more about what they love so much about this special island where they got married….”To me, Nantucket means family. So many memories were created on Nantucket. Since we were kids, when we visit the island, we would try to learn as much as we could about it’s impressive history. I like to think that for the past 23 years, that we have become a tiny part of that history as well. Growing up, families often disagree – but the one thing all four of us agreed upon always was our obsession and love for Nantucket. We would cry on the slow ferry home, and look forward to our next trip. We started coming to Nantucket when I was 7 and my sister was 4. Over the years, we have had many family members and friends come with us and shared amazing memories in this place we love so much. I know, I may be biased, but Brandon is the best person I have ever met. His parents raised him to appreciate family and always encouraged him to embrace time spent together. He is kind, warm, patient (sneaky funny) and most importantly, understands how important family is. I was so excited to share Nantucket with him – that was over 11 years ago and he fit right in. From our very first trip, he embraced family time and traditions just like they were his own. It became a place that he began to love as much as I did and we were able to grow together even more around our love for such a special place, and now Nantucket is a part of him too, by getting engaged and married there.”

And more from Brandon…”Nantucket is a place where I grew closer with Jenna, but also felt more like family with the LaRocco’s with each year we took the 8+ hour trip to the island. Which is what makes being there that more special! Although there are many memories, my time in Nantucket during the summers of 2018 and 2019 are most memorable to look back on.  In July 2018, Nantucket was solidified as a special place when I decided to start my next chapter with Jenna and asked her to marry me at The Galley.  Words can’t describe how special this night was, having both of our families there to celebrate and share in the excitement of what was to come.   In fact, it was so special that we decided to get married at the same place we got engaged!  The fact that we got engaged and married on Nantucket just goes to show how unique and spectacular the Island is and how it holds a special place in our heart!”

From the heartfelt ceremony, the exciting petal toss, portraits at Steps Beach and the amazing dance party this wedding had incredible energy the entire time! As the night went on we saw so many fun moments unfold and some of our favorites were when Jenna took to the stage to join the band! She had the microphone more than not and I wouldn’t be surprised if Sultans asks her to join them in future weddings! I loved hearing Brandon’s account of their special day……”Obviously, marrying the love of my life was the most memorable part of our special day!  A close second place memory was seeing how our entire wedding party enjoyed their time on Nantucket and had such an amazing time celebrating our love.  It was a confirmation that Nantucket really is a special place.  As I walked and danced around our reception at The Galley, I did not see one person that was not enjoying their time, and that meant the world to me.  Plus, Jenna got to live out her lifelong dream of being a rockstar on stage and stole the show her performance!  That was something else!  It is remarkable how such a small place off the coast of Massachusetts can leave such a lasting impression with so many, but its not surprise to me after all of the memories I’ve made, and will continue to make, while vacation at our happy place!”

We are so happy for Jenna and Brandon and we know we’ll be seeing these two on Nantucket again soon!! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, we loved capturing your wedding story!!

Jenna shared more thoughts about what made the day extra special too….”Everything about that day was so amazing! My girls all looked so beautiful, and our parents like movie stars. There was so much anticipation leading up to the ceremony, I thought I might cry uncontrollably and ruin my makeup when I saw him, but turns out it was the exact opposite. When we got to the church, I just felt overwhelmingly excited. When the door opened and my Dad and I started walking down the aisle towards my soon-to-be husband, there was no way i was going to cry, I wanted to run! He looked so handsome and I just tried my best to take it all in.”

“Apparently I am also not the best listener, because I completely jumped the gun on the kiss. Rev. Ruth had not yet pronounced us husband and wife, and I just jumped at the opportunity to kiss my new husband! I also really loved having a quiet moment in the tower after the ceremony and watching our loved ones line-up and wave at us for the petal toss was really humbling. Looking down at all these wonderful people who traveled so far to celebrate our love with us was truly humbling and heartwarming. My sister Lauren was literally the best MOH in the world, she went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. It was a fairytale wedding, we are truly blessed. And changing Brandon’s name to “husband” in my phone was awesome!”
