Anne and Kevin are getting married in just under three weeks here on Nantucket! This couple appreciates so much about the island and I loved photographing them at some of their favorite places. Their wedding will be at Sconset Chapel with a reception at The Wauwinetso for the engagement session we photographed areas around town and Steps Beach. One reason I truly enjoy photographing Engagement Sessions is that I get to know the couples even more and I get to capture memories for them at a variety of places that are different than the Wedding Day locations. When I asked Anne about why they love Nantucket her response couldn’t have been better……

 

“Everything! We love the seemingly endless, beautiful beaches and the feeling of remoteness when you find a new path to a beach you haven’t explored before (and are sometimes the only one there!). We also love the variety of vibes the island offers — it always seems to satisfy whatever mood we are in at any given time.  Whether it’s a quite family beach day, live music and afternoon cocktails at the brewery, a show at White Heron, or a fancy dinner in town followed by the Box! After we walked around Historic Downtown area of Nantucket we went to Steps Beach for sunset. Anne and Kevin had so much fun down at the beach and even practiced a few dance moves at sunset. We are so excited to photograph their wedding this September. Anne’s words about our session are so kind and we know the Wedding is going to be an absolute blast!

 

“Well first of all, I think we were really surprised how much we enjoyed ourselves! It was our first time doing a photoshoot and Katie made us feel comfortable and totally at ease. We got lucky with an incredibly beautiful evening and sunset. Popping champagne at Steps Beach as the sun went down was certainly a highlight we will not forget.”

 

As we head into another Nantucket September full of Weddings I feel so very thankful. We can’t wait to photograph this special day and work with a few of our favorite teams over at Nantucket Island Events , Yellow Productions (Wedding Films) and Soiree Floral.
