Lauren and Chris were married on July 13th 2018 in Newport, Rhode Island. Under blue skies and sunshine the couple shared their first look before heading to the ceremony at The Church of Jesus Savior. After a heartfelt ceremony officiated by Father Bernard A. Healey everyone was welcomed to the reception at Belle Mer over looking the water and Newport Bridge. The views at Belle Mer are stunning and Marc Hall Design did an outstanding job with the decor and design. They brought Lauren and her Mom’s creative vision to life and the space was truly transformed into a special and unique setting for the wedding.

I loved hearing more about how Lauren and Chris chose Newport and Belle Mer for their wedding….”From the moment we stepped foot on property, we knew that Belle Mer would be the perfect venue for our wedding. We fell in love with how modern, light, bright, and open the space is with its wall of glass doors that open up to perfectly manicured lawns and unobstructed views of the ocean. We also loved being able to see the Newport Bridge in the distance. We chose Newport because we’ve been there quite a few times since we started dating in August 2015. We’ve always had fun trying new bars, restaurants and exploring the town. Plus, Rhode Island is home for Chris. He grew up in Smithfield and his family spent summers in Little Compton.”

Traveling to Newport for this wedding was an absolute treat for Cary and I. It’s no secret that we shoot a lot of weddings on Nantucket and we are always stalking the sunset and water views for our couples. I have to say Newport completely spoiled us as we were greeted with gorgeous purple skies at sunset and we had so much fun making a few portraits of our newlyweds before they were announced into their reception.

What stood out to us throughout the whole wedding was how loved Lauren and Chris are by their family and friends. The speeches were full of love, humor and wonderful stories and it was great to learn more about Lauren and Chris and their relationship. It is very clear these two have a bright future ahead of them with their new marriage and journey together.

Everyone danced the night away to the amazing performance by Night Shift Entertainment and it was so much fun capturing the dance party. We couldn’t be happier for Lauren and Chris and we loved meeting their wonderful families and friends.
